Layer

Phasing

It appears likely (from the single find of a cinder) that this is a relatively modern feature, perhaps associated with the hedge boundary (011AC10007).

Discussion

Initially believed to be a pit, this proved to be nothing more than a shallow layer of material, cut by the modern hedge boundary 011AC10007. It was a friable sandy loam (Munsell colour 10YR 3/6).
