Pit

Discussion

The pit had an ovate shape and a complex profile, due to the presence of a solution hole at the eastern end. The fill was a fine sandy loam (Munsell 10/YR/43), with less than 5% chalk inclusions. Five of the six objects recovered could be assigned a prehistoric date (one potsherd and 4 flint objects, including 2 blades). No animal bones were found.
