Phasing

Apart from being sealed by spit 011AB00030, the pit had no other stratigraphic relationships. There were no finds.

Discussion

A pit located just to the east of the enclosure ditch 011AB10004. No finds or animal bones were recovered from the feature. A single shallow fill was excavated, being a sandy clay loam (Munsell colour 10YR 3/3), with few chalk inclusions. The pit was cut into solid chalk natural.
