Discussion

A pit located just to the south of the Middle Saxon post-in-trench structure 011AB10013. No finds or animal bones were recovered from the feature. Two fills were noted during excavation, the secondary fill being a sandy clay loam (Munsell 10YR 4/3) with the primary fill a charcoal rich deposit (Munsell 10YR 3/2) found just above the base of the feature. The pit was cut into solid chalk natural.
