Discussion

This was the initial cleaning spit over the machine excavated trench in the southern part of Area 11AB. Finds include those from the cleaning of the sections. Very few finds and animal bones could not be attributed to their underlying features. Of note, however, was the recovery of a copper alloy annular brooch from the section cleaning. The spit defined five ditches and five pits.
