Undefined Feature

Discussion

An undefined feature with an elongated shape, this was one of a number of similar features in the immediate area. In particular, this was one of three which appeared to be on a the same alignment (with 011AB00385 and 011AB00521).The feature was filled with a dark (10YR 3/4) loamy sand, with a 10% chalk gravel inclusion rate. The feature had an undulating base cut into a chalk gravel natural. Five animal bones (4 cattle and 1 sheep/goat) and 4 objects were recovered, although dating the feature remains difficult, as the pottery was 1 Iron Age sherd, 1 Romano-British sherd and 1 non-diagnostic sherd.
