This is one of 2 shallow pits (with 011AE00118) cut into the natural chalk. In this part of the site all of the features were severely plough truncated. The pit was very similar in character to 011AE00118, although there were no finds from this feature. The pit was located after rain and subsequent differential drying, as definition was exceptionally  Half-section view of 011AE00120 from the east  difficult prior to this.
