Pit

Discussion

The pit was located less than a metre to the west of pit 011AE00063, and it is highly likely that these form one of the Neolithic pit pairs which are found throughout this area. (for instance 011AE00427 and 011AE00429). The fill contained 5 sherds of pottery, 3 of which were assigned a Neolithic date, one of which is Later Neolithic. Two animal bones were also found, as well as 5 fragments of stone (one of sandstone). The pit cut was difficult to define due to quite severe animal burrowing.
