Pit

Discussion

The pit contained only one object, a sherd of Roman grey ware, and a number of unidentifiable animal bones. All of the finds came from the final 5cm of the fill, and thus may have been derived from other sources. The feature was unusual in having an area of burning  View from south east showing area of burning  on the south-eastern edge. The chalk inclusions were quite large (up to 4cm) in comparison to the inclusions in the surrounding features.
