Pit

Discussion

A small, V-profiled pit cut into the chalk gravel natural, and filled with a loamy sand (Munsell 10YR43). The pit is notable as it contained partial fragments of 10 human ribs. No other finds were recovered from the pit. Interestingly, this feature is only 14.5 metres to the north-west of another pit (011AE00165) containing human remains, in this case the skeletal remains of a foetus.
