Pit

Discussion

A sub-circular pit located just to the west of pit 011AE00073. The pit contained no objects and no animal bones. The fill was slightly darker (Munsell 10/YR/42) than all the other fills in the surrounding area, much like pit 011AE00078, some 10 metres to the south. The texture of the loamy sand was also coarser than that of other fills. Unusually, this pit appeared to be very little affected by animal burrowing, considering the amount of burrowing through all of the other features in the area.
