Pit

Phasing

The pit is phased as Middle-Saxon, based on the identification of a single potsherd.

Discussion

The pit is one of 2 pits (with 011AE00154) identified as Middle-Saxon in the immediate area. A great deal of animal action in the area made the exact extent of the pit difficult to define. As with 011AE00154, few finds were recovered, although the 14 sheep bones recovered may indicate a partially articulated leg.
