Pit

Discussion

The pit contained only two stone objects, one of them a fragment of local pink chalk and the other a small piece of quartzite (used as temper in the making of pottery). No other finds or animal bones were recovered from the feature, although a lens of charcaol was noted in the section. The fill (loamy sand Munsell 10/YR/43) contained 10-15% chalk inclusions.
