Discussion

This was the cleaning of a further machine stripped extension of the area to the south. The removal of this spit revealed a number of hayrick gullies (011BC00666, 011BC00670 and 011BC00683) and a Middle Saxon post in trench structure (011BC07049). No finds were recovered from this spit, as all of the finds could be attributed to the features revealed below.
