Discussion

The ditch was excavated at the end of the 1991 season, and no numbers were issued at that time. There were no finds recovered from the ditch fill. The feature was cut into hillwash with a U-shaped profile. Although it was never observed continuing through into the area to the north (Area 11AE excavated in 1990), analysis of the object and animal bone distribution from the spits 011AE00115 and 011AE00116 indicate that this may have been the case.
