Structure or Enclosure?

Discussion

A rectangular north-south oriented feature with rounded corners and a possible entrance in the west. At present, two interpretations for the function of the feature are possible. The first is that the feature is a structure of some kind. However, although most of the feature was excavated (with some segments initially in longitudinal half section) no trace of any post or stake holes or timber slots were noted. The second possibility is that the feature is an enclosure of some type, possibly an animal pen (for instance a sheep fold). Only 3 finds were recovered from the fill of the feature, and although one of them was a flint flake, it does not help to date the feature as flint flakes were prevalent in this part of the site. The other 2 finds were non-diagnostic.
