Discussion

This was a dark (Munsell colour 10YR 2/1) ashy layer, aligned almost north-south, located within the box section 012AA00126. It is possible that this was the fill of a poorly defined slot, although a cut could not be ascertained. Three Roman pot sherds were found (including a samian sherd)
