Discussion

 A pit in the north of area 12AA, cut through the east side of ditch 012AA00199. The pit became apparent during the excavation of a box section, removed as spit 012AA00096. Two fills were apparent; a primary fill (012AA00209) of sandy loam with larger chalk inclusions (up to10cm in size) than the secondary fill (012AA00197). Both fills contained charcoal inclusions and the upper fill also contained burnt animal bone.
