Discussion

These numbers were issued late on in the 1995 excavation season and were given 12AB numbers although they were in Area 12AA. This was a spit below the machine cut trench in an attempt to find the surviving prehistoric landscape below the layer of sandy colluvium. Two prehistoric, and one as yet unassigned, potsherds were found in this cleaning spit. Below this layer were four postholes and a pit (issued with master 012AB07176). There were no finds from any of these features.
