Slot
Phasing
The feature contained no material culture. Its relationship with the north-south
aligned ditch 012AD00768 was not established.
Discussion
This was a narrow, short slot located right on the northern limit of excavation..
Its single fill was a sandy clay loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/2), with less
than 5% chalk inclusions. A little daub and charcoal flecking were noted.
It was exceptionally shallow, which is why no relationships with the surrounding
features could be established. Its definition as a slot appears somewhat
difficult to support, given that only a tiny part was excavated.
The feature was cut into chalk. The profile was recorded as a wide U,
although its shallow nature made this difficult to ascertain.
