Slot

Phasing

The only diagnostic material culture were two late Romano-British pot sherds. Apart from being sealed by spit 012AD08743, the slot had no other stratigraphic relationships.

Discussion

This was a short slot, located on the western side of the dry valley. Its fill was a silty clay loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/3), with 10% chalk inclusions. Slight charcoal flecking was noted.

The slot was cut into fragmented chalk natural, with a roough and uneven U-shaped cut.
