Discussion

This feature (one of a number Click here to see an outline plan of the slots in red within the large southern enclosure) contained a single fill, a sandy loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/3), with around 5% chalk inclusions (0.5-5cm in diameter). No daub or charcoal flecking were noted. It is possible that these slots have a functional relationship with the post hole group 012AD07256, perhaps acting as animal pens.

The slot was cut into hillwash, with a U-shaped profile.
