The only diagnostic find was a single sherd of late Romano-British pottery. Although not seen during the initial excavation, it was clear in section that this ditch cut 012AD08453.

Discussion

This was the southernmost of three parallel ditches (with 012AD08453 and 012AD08455), initially defined in a triangular section. The fill was a sandy loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/3), with 10-15% chalk inclusions (1-3cm in diameter). No daub or charcoal flecking were noted.

The ditch was cut through ditch 012AD08453 and into sand & gravel with a U-shaped profile. Only a shorth segment of the ditch was excavated. No hint of the feature was seen either to the north-west or south-east.
