Discussion

This was a short slot, located with a group of post holes in the southern central part of area 12AD. The single fill was a sandy clay loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/3) with very few small chalk inclusions. Charcoal flecking was noted throughout the fill. The context record states that two tile fragments and a broken copper alloy object were also present, but these are not found in the object records.

The feature was cut into hillwash with a U-shaped profile.
