Discussion

This spit was directly under the machine clearance 012AA00001, and was excavated to remove a raised area of soil left by the machine, and to define the east-west ditches. Two fragments of Medieval pottery were recovered. North-south oriented ditch 012AA00029 was defined by the removal of this spit.
