Slot
Phasing
The feature contained a single sherd of late Romano-British pottery. Apart
from being sealed by spit 012AD00001, the
feature had no other stratigraphic relationships.
Discussion
This was a narrow, short slot located on the chalk at the eastern edge
of the dry valley. Its single fill was a sandy loam (Munsell colour 10YR
4/3), with between 5-2-% chalk inclusions. No daub or charcoal flecking
were noted.
The slot was cut into chalk. The profile was recorded as U-shaped, although
plough truncation made this difficult to ascertain.
