Pit

Discussion

A small pit located to the north of pit 002CA00821, but not related to any other features. It was quite shallow, apart from the central part, which belled out under the surface. A large number (46) of burnt hazelnut shells were recovered from the dark (10YR 3/2) sandy loam fill. These normally imply a Neolithic date for the feature, although no type artefacts were recovered.
