Pit

Discussion

A small ovate pit in the east of area 2CA to the north/east of Grubenhaus 002CA00818. A number of post holes are located to the west of the pit, along the north and west sides of the Grubenhaus, but their function is unclear. The fill contained one sherd of pottery. More unusually, the pit contained a number of large (up to 15cm) charred chalk blocks, evenly distributed and tightly packed.
