Pit
Phasing
The only find was a sherd of Medieval green-glazed pottery. Apart from
being sealed by spit 002CB00001, the pit
had no other stratigraphic relationships.
Discussion
This was a small, sub-circular pit, located just to the east of the entrance
to the round house (002CB07124).
The fill was a sandy silty loam (Munsell colour 7.5 YR 3/2), with 10-15%
chalk inclusions (all less than 3cm in diameter).
The pit was cut into chalk gravel, with a flat-based U profile.
