Pit

Phasing

The context record mentions the find of a ?beaker sherd, although this is not represented in the object recored. Apart fom being sealed by spit 002CB00002, the feature had no other stratigraphic relationships.

Discussion

The pit was very difficult to define, and was eventually box sectioned. It contained a silty loam fill (Munsell colour 10YR 3/2) with 5-10% angular chalk inclusions.

The pit was cut into gravel with a U-shaped profile.
