Post Hole Group

Discussion

A group of four post holes located just to the south-east of the possible post hole structure 002DB07206 . The post holes do not form any clear structural arrangement. Three of the post holes are in line, with 002DB00026 4.5 metres to the south. These post holes were unusual in that they produced a number of finds and animal bones. One of the post holes contained prehistoric material (a Beaker sherd from 002DB00025) and another contained material usually associated with a Neolithic date (hazelnut shells and a red deer antler from 002DB00134), although 002DB00134 also produced an Iron Age and a Romano-British potsherd.
