Discussion

A probable prehistoric sub-rectangular pit in the south/west corner of area 2DC. The pit is immediately to the east of medieval furrow 002DC00029 (master 002DC07047). The fill (Munsell 10YR 4/3) contained charcoal flecking and eight pottery sherds of various dates. A definite prehistoric pit (002DC00157) was located 12 metres to the east.
