Discussion

A terrace was noted running east-west across the central part of area 2DC, and the fill (generally a hillwash, Munsell 10YR 4/3) was removed in a number of arbitrary spits. This spit was the most easterly of these, and was removed to establish whether the pebble surface located just to the east (002DC00096) extended in this direction to the west. In the event, nether the pebble surface nor any other features survived in this area. The level of objects and animal bones recovered was much lowere than that of the spit above (002DC00006)
