Discussion
This was the most northerly of the areas excavated in 1990, and is located
just south of the field boundary which separates Sites 2 and 11. The initial
southern limit was defined by the outermost ditch in Area 11AB (ditch master
011AB10003).
In the west, feature definition was possible without further cleaning,
although the area to the east was subsequently trowelled and most of the
finds were lifted under this cleaning spit (011AA00002).
It was immediately apparent that the modern drain pipe encountered previously
in Area 2DC had clearly cut through a number of features. The western part
of this area is dominated by the furrow remains of a rig and furrow field
system.
