Discussion

 This was the third of four spits (under  012AA00085 and 012AA00095, and above the smaller 012AA00207) in this area to try to define the return of a sequence of ditches swinging in from the south and south-east, at the intersection with the enclosures to the north. A small number (3) fragments of fired clay were found in this context. The removal of this spit defined the ditch 012AA00278.
