Discussion

The spit was removed to define features at the interface between the hillwash sealing the centre of the dry valley and the chalk on the eastern edge. The material removed was a sandy loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/3). The short slot 012AD00575 and the ditch 012AD00528 were defined.
