Slot

Phasing

The slot contained no diagnostic material culture. Apart from being sealed by spit 012AD00505, the slot had no other stratigraphic relationships.

Discussion

This was a narrow, shallow slot, located between enclosure ditches 012AD07227 and 012AD07228. Its single fill was a sandy clay loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/2), with 10% chalk inclusions. Both daub and charcoal flecking were present. The only finds were three cattle bones.

The slot was cut into solid chalk with an irregular profile (possibly a stepped U, but plough truncation made this difficult to establish).
