Discussion

This short slot seemed to butt upn against ditch 012AD09064 in the west. It conatained a single fill, a sandy loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/3) with 15% chalk inclusions (1-3cm in diameter). No daub or charcoal flecking were noted. The section drawing indicates that the southern half of the fill contained a much lower chalk inclusion rate, perhaps due to posts or timber planks rotting in situ.

The slot was cut into hillwash with a stepped-U profile.
