Discussion

This was a rectangular spit, removed to define a series of east-west aligned ditches. This spit was immediately to the south-east of spit 012AD00468. The material removed was a dark (Munsell colour 10YR 4/2) sandy clay loam. Finds included a late Roman coin (AD 347-348, a follis of Constans).
