Discussion

A small patch of buried soil, this context was situated at the extreme western limit of the excavtion. This deposit was sealed by a blown sand deposit (no number issued), possibly explaining its survival.. The buried soil consisted of a sandy silty loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/3). Finds included an Anglian iron knife and a fragment of Niedermendig lava. Charcoal flecking was also noted.
