Discussion
This was a cleaning spit across the Medieval headland (to the north of
spit 002DB00080, although very little
evidence remained this far north. The material removed (by shovel scraping)
was a sandy silty loam (Munsell colour 10YR 3/3). No 3-dimensional points
have been retrieved for the finds from this spit, so the animal bone only
has been displayed in the plan above. A small, shallow pit (002DB00359)
was defined.
