? Pit
Phasing
The only diagnostic material culture recovered from the feature were five
late Romano-British pot sherds. However, the pit sealed a curvilinear slot
(012AD08501), which contained an
Anglian sherd.

Discussion
This was a large pit-type feature, sealed by the layer of material 012AD05064.
It was estimated that only a quarter of the total area covered by the pit
was excavated. The feature contained a single fill, a sandy loam (Munsell
colour 10YR 4/4), with 10% chalk inclusions (0.5-1.5cm in diameter). No
daub or charcoal flecking were noted.
The feature was cut into sand and gravel, with a wide V profile. Removal
of the fill revealed the curvilinear slot 012AD08501.
