Discussion

This was the second major cleaning spit excavted over the southern-central part of area 11BA. The material removed (trowelled, then brushed by hand) was generally a sandy silty loam (Munsell 10YR 4/3), although patches of sandy loam were also visible. A number of further cleaning spits were required for further definition of features. Once again, the animal bone obviously clustered over and to the east of the pebble surface (011BA00367).
