Discussion

This was the final spit (under 011CE00593) in the triangular section excavated to establish the profile of the enclosure ditch sequence at this point. The material removed was a sandy loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/3). This spit revealed the ditches 011CE00570, 011CE00620, 011CE00630 and  011CE00643, and a layer of redeposited natural which defined the eastern edge of ditch 011CE00620.
