Discussion

A spit (012AB00460) was excavated to try and define if a block of Niedermendig lava (part of a quernstone) and a burnt daub deposit were within the fill of a cut feature. No features were defined, and thus it seems as though these artefacts were sitting directly on an old ground surface.
