Discussion

This was the third spit (under the southern half of 012AB00819) taken across the area which had previously been the baulk between areas 12AA and 12AB (removed by machine later in the 1995 excavation season). The spit was attempting to define the anomalies detected by the high resolution geophysical survey. It helped to define segments of the east-west enclosure ditches 012AB00761, 012AD00757, 012AB00789 and 012AB00813. Only animal bones were recovered.
