Discussion

This spit was excavated to define the entrance into enclosure 011BA07129, and to ascertain the amount of damage caused by the Medieval ridge and furrow ploughing.. The material removed was a silty clay loam (Munsell colour 10YR 4/3). Most of the finds were clustered around the terminus of the north-eatsern arm of the enclosure. The finds included an Anglian iron knife blade.
