Discussion

This was a shovel-scraped spit to define features. It was across a sandy area which was located between two chalky areas. The material removed was generally a light coloured sand (Munsell 10YR 5/4), although sandy loam was also present. The only feature defined was pit 011BA00079. Finds included 5 flint objects, a single Iron Age pot sherd and three late Roman pot sherds. No animal bones were found.
